Yula – by Fevronia

I am thrilled to announce the release of my first single, Yula. This song holds a special place in my heart as it embodies a labor of love and friendship from its inception to its final production.

I first met “Yula” during a jam session with the composer and lyricist Dimitrios Pingios on a sunny summer afternoon in 2018 in Thessaloniki. My friendship with Dimitris dates back to 2013 in Cologne, where our collaboration on Rebetika music first began. I am deeply grateful for his trust in entrusting me with this song, especially considering this marks Dimitrios’s debut release as well. I am truly honored!

This vibrant and uplifting song was brought into new life through the production of my exceptional music producer Gert Kapo who also showcases his skills on the keys. The collaboration of the talented musicians – Philipp Köbele, Dario Schattel, AugiTropics , Giorgos Zachariou , and Max Klaas – was funtamental in shaping the song’s sound. Their hard work and creativity have truly shone through in every note and lyric.

Not to forget Nikos Rondelis for his great mixing and Apostolos Siopis for his cool mastering.

I am incredibly excited to share Yula with the world, and I hope that her energy resonates with listeners as deeply as it does with me. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey – I could not have done it without you. Here’s to many more songs and memorable moments ahead! Yula“ is the first specially composed title from the feather of Dimitrios Pingios for Fevronia. 

Yula tells the story of a simple village girl who is a queen in the eyes of her lover and is idolized by him. 

This anthem combines Greek poetry about Eros in its purest original form with a mystical Tsifteteli slow Balkan rumba beat.

What power does love have, how does Eros ( amorousness) inspire us in the interaction of the loving and the environment in our lives?

You will find the answer in this energy of love, which is electrifying! 

Yula personifies the transforming power of love. The song of Fevronia is a poetic hymn to love and its ability to move mountains. There is a Yula in each and every one of us and if you let yourself be guided by the power of love, you will find love for yourself. 

This is the foundation for the sound and message of Fevronia’s premiere single.

Together with Gert Kapo as keyboarder & producer and Nikolaos Rondelis (mix & mastering) Fevronia and her band & guest soloists (Giorgos Zachariou & Max Klaas) have created a Greek mix of sound that is magically balanced between Orient and Occident.

For the debut album „Amanet“ (release 06.2024) by Gert Kapo, this collaboration has already received numerous positive reviews in the press.
